Our Story

Friends & Family Camp, originally founded in 1968 as Diocesan Family Camp (DFC), prides itself on being an inclusive community that embraces campers of all faiths and beliefs. Since our founding, our camp aims to provide families a memorable summer camp experience at Camp Kinkora in Quebec, Canada. Friends & Family Camp, a member of the Discovery Camping Association (DCA), joins three other camps - Daylight Camp, Youth in Action, and Visions Camp - in providing a volunteer-based camp experience. Together, these camps offer a range of recreational activities and programming tailored to create an enriched and fun environment for all campers.

Our Mission

At Friends & Family Camp, our mission is to provide a safe, fun and welcoming environment for all campers. We prioritize building a sense of community and fostering personal growth and development through a variety of activities that encourage connections with others and with nature. Camp offers a valuable opportunity for families to spend quality time with each other and create lasting memories through shared experiences. Our technology-free setting provides campers of all ages the opportunity to unplug, unwind and engage in meaningful interactions with others and themselves, making new friendships along the way. Camp is a special place where friends become family.

Our Programs

Friends & Family Camp offers a well-rounded themed program emphasizing values like kindness and respect, focusing on character building. Our daily music sessions at the chapel feature lively guitar music and a unique theme song. Campers can enjoy the open waterfront for swimming, boating, and relaxing on the beach. Other daily activities include sports like soccer baseball, hikes and arts and crafts. Campers look forward to our annual fishing derby and swim across the lake, as well as our organized games like capture flag. Evening program includes a talent show, a dance and bonfires. Adult socials ensure that the camp truly has something for everyone to enjoy!
